I definitely enjoy reading and informing myself of all the mysteries and symbols of the universe. I originally bought it for my wife but glance at it once in awhile. i do believe it is very informative reading. if you enjoy learning of mystic symbolism of different cultures and religions this is the book for you.
I checked this out at the Library and had to have it!! Great book!

informative book about signs, symbols of the humanity across the time length and culture, from Nordic mythology, Greek mythology, Native Aboriginal (USA) animal symbols, Chinese I Ching, and Egyptian symbols. One interesting thing is Nazi (NSDAP or Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) Party symbol is actually representing good, origins of the universe. Public has distorted the sign as evil, but it is not. Let the truth be spoken.
What a lovely book! As an artist, I am constantly looking to increase my awareness of line, gesture and symbol to better understand what they reference, and or how they might be perceived by my audience. This book has been on my studio desk for weeks now, and I often find myself drawn into its pages in between tasks. Each entry goes into great detail, but not so much that I am overwhelmed at any time -- I think the pages chocked full of images helps considerably. I've referenced the spread on birds already a dozen times, and it has prompted further interest and research into some of the specific tributes of the various species included.
Beautiful book, wonderful colour plates and informative copy. Great coffee table accoutrement.Perhaps in the beginning, there was the symbol... for the word.:)
